I had first set eyes on Abby in the mid-nineties when I had taken my mare Amusemint (Amy) to be bred to PVLTD Lord Calvert (Chester), with the hope of acquiring a filly that I could keep as a broodmare prospect. Instead, I ended up with two gorgeous colts, Mitakola Morning Star and Mitakola Montana.

In 2005 I had been going through some old videos and I found some footage of Abby as a yearling. Again my interest was sparked, so I placed a call to Dana and Gary Thomas who were the current owners of Abby, and was thrilled to learn that she was for sale. I did not need to see her, nor have her vetted, to know that she would be everything that Dana had promised. We agreed upon a price and Abby was delivered on February 26th, 2005.

Abby is a gentle and kind mare, and I am looking forward to enjoying a long lasting relationship with her.

Though Abby has a few issues concerning an injury that she had received a few years back when she was kicked in the shoulder by a pony, with care and consideration she is still able to be ridden. She drives as well. I have begun to work with her at a slow place, and I am quite pleased with her progress. She is incredibly comfortable to ride.

UPDATE ON ABBY

CONGRATULATIONS KIMIE... I had initially purchased Abby to breed to our stallion, Mitakola Midnight Special, but Abby fulfilled a new purpose, to bring joy to the heart of a very special teenager. On Christmas of 2007 I gave half ownership of Abby to Kimie Pranger . Kimie is a hard worker. She is precious and priceless, and the closest thing to a daughter. Thank you so much. Kimie and Abby had taken a liking to each other upon their first meeting. Since, they have developed a wonderful working relationship.	Looking toward the future... Kimie and Abby June, 2008

On Oct. 25, 2008, Kelly and I took Kimie, Courtney and Lizzie to the Washington International Horse Show. where Kimie purchased a new bridle and saddle pad for Abby.	Our friend Karen joined us, and offered for us to spend the night at her home in Crofton. Kimie and Karen, assembling the bridle.
