After sifting through thousands of dogs on
Pet Finder in
search of a companion, I kept returning to Kachina, a lovely five year
old, blue fawn Cane Corso Mastiff. She was a rescue through Comp Animals. I contacted them and was so excited when I learned that Kachina was in a foster home in New Castle Delaware, and was still available for adoption. She had been in the care of her foster Mom, Betty, since February. Betty was her last chance. |

I spoke with Bruce, and a few days later we met with
Betty and Kachina. After several big, sloppy kisses, there was no doubt that Kachina would win our hearts. The following Tuesday, July 27th, 2010, we signed the adoption agreement and Kachina was introduced to her "Forever Home" in Galena. She has settled in nicely ~ at home, as well as the farm. She's extremely affectionate and is forever giving those big, sloppy kisses. She loves her walks to the barn, car rides, and cuddling on the sofa or in bed, and wrestling with her rope toy. |

UPDATE: AUGUST 23, 2010 Kachina has been with us now for four weeks, and she is everything that I had wanted in a companion. The two of us have formed an incredible bond. She goes to the barn every morning with me, and spends the afternoon on the sofa beside me, while I work on the computer. She's one of the biggest lap dogs I've known. It's the perfect match. Kachina needed a
home, and I needed Kachina. |
