Miko was fed blueberries, raspberries, and a variety of plant life that grow wild in his outdoor habitat.  While he was being reintroduced to the out doors, two other young raccoons frequented Miko's cage, calling to him. When he was released, he followed their trail into the woods.

             A WORD ABOUT RACCOONS

Though raccoons can often be sweet and friendly when they are young, we do not recommend that you keep a raccoon as a pet. They are, after all, wild animals, and as they grow older the males in particular can often become aggressive, especially during the time of breeding season.
I would also like to express that it is not always true that if you see a Raccoon venturing out during the day, that it is rabid. Mothers will often seek food during the day while their youngsters are sleeping. You should however, always use caution when in close proximity to any wild animal.
Enjoy them, but please respect their space.
Thank you.
