Born in the year 2000, Moon Shadow was intially nicknamed "Button" because of an unusual growth on the center of her forehead, a shadow directly above her moon like star. It was this growth that inspired the name Moon Shadow. The growth eventually fell off at three months old, and as a yearling, "Button’s" pattern of growth had changed in such a way that her nickname again changed to "Pony. |

At two years old Pony began ground training with P.A. Keating, and later with DL Lemm. In that same year she was purchased by Karen McGady and her daughter Emily, of Crofton Maryland. It was love at first sight for Emily and Pony, and when Emily fearlessly climbed into the saddle, they instantly bonded as though they were old friends. |

Pony was purchased by Karen and Emily McGady in 2003, and now has a loving home in Crofton MD. It's not that far, and I still get to hear of all their little adventures. When Pony was registered, her name was changed from Mitakola Moon Shadow to McGady's Moon Shadow... but she is still the Pony we all love and cherish. |
