If you look closely at the grass in the photo on the left, you can see how strong the wind was blowing. We saw several tumbleweeds cross our paths.

As we were leaving Sage Creek, a man was trying to chase a Prairie Rattlesnake away from the road. The previous day I had been so awed by the Buffalo that I hadn't considered Rattlesnakes. I did from there on.

Wayne and Bruce.

Montana had been our initial destination. for research for my novel, Wind~In~The~Grasses~Dancing. While we were in South Dakota, Bruce and I stayed on the Rosebud Reservation with Wayne Foster. At that time he was a Doctor on the Reservation.

He showed us the sights, and took us to the little museum in Mission where I had the opportunity to view Crazy Horse's Eagle Bone War Whistle ~ a Spiritual experience in itself. For I had no idea of the Medicine that Crazy Horse would later bring to my life.

Regretfully, Wayne has since passed on after a bout with Cancer.

Stopping to admire one of the fine herds of horses and ponies on the Reservation.
